Right angle gearbox - function introduction
The Right Angle Gearbox enables the benefits of Norbar's pneumatic and electric torque tools to be brought to a host of applications from which they are currently excluded due to space restrictions.The Right Angle Gearbox provides most ET, PTS and PTM tools with a 90° angle of operation.
As the tool rotates on two different planes (the Right Angle Gearbox Adaptor and the Gearbox itself), there is a risk of objects getting caught
between the tools reaction plate and the tools body. Ensure all obstacles are clear from this risk, such as: hands, air hoses and electrical wires.
- The handle and Right Angle Gearbox can index in relation to the tool gearbox meaning that reaction forces are not passed back to the operator
- Allows more comfortable operation of the EvoTorque2 on vertically bolting applications at chest height and above as the pistol grip is presented correctly to the operator
- The tool handle can rotate 360° in relation to the Right Angle Gearbox allowing the most comfortable and safest position to be found
- Manufactured from steel, the Right Angle Gearbox is robustly constructed for durability and long life.
Reaction Safety
These tools feature a reaction plate to take the reaction forces. This creates a crushing hazard if the operator places a hand on the reaction
plate. The reaction plate ensures all reaction forces are contained, so torque reaction is not passed back to the operator.
When in use the reaction plate rotates in the opposite direction to the output drive square and must be allowed to rest squarely against a solid object or surface adjacent to the fastener to be tightened as demonstrated in these illustrations.
IMPORTANT: WE RECOMMEND THE FULLY ASSEMBLED TOOL SHOULD BE RECALIBRATED. ALTERNATIVELY, YOU SHOULD ASSUME AN EFFICIENCY OF 97%.
